PowerPoint 2002 (Windows) and PowerPoint 2001 (Mac) both added multiple masters and a lot of other new features and bring the Mac and PC versions into rough equivalence again. 2002/2003 also have motion path animation, supported by the PowerPoint 2003 viewer. If you have a Microsoft 365 subscription, make sure you have the latest version of Office. (Beginning with PowerPoint for Microsoft 365 for Mac version 16.19, audio narration is included in the video when you export your presentation.) Click File Export. On the File Format menu, select the video format that you want (MP4 or MOV). A tutorial about using PowerPoint for Mac.

Powerpoint For Mac Pc Software

PowerPoint is presentation software by Microsoft, part of Microsoft Office. If you want to use it, you need to buy it from Microsoft.

Apple has its own presentation software, called Keynote, and it's quite well regarded. However, it is not bundled with Mac OS X, and you have to buy it from Apple, either by itself, or as part of a suite called iWork, which is a sort of counterpart to Microsoft Office.

If you need compatibility with PowerPoint, but can't afford to buy it, you can try OpenOffice or LibreOffice. Both are free; they are based on the same software and they are designed for a high degree of compatibility with MS Office. There is also NeoOffice, based on the same software as the other two; it is supposed to be more Mac-like than the others, but, although theoretically free, it requires a (relatively) small fee to download, which means it's not really free. None of the three is as well polished or well supported as MS Office or iWork, but they do work quite well.

Follow these instructions to create a narrated PowerPoint presentation on a Mac.

  1. Make sure your slides are complete.
  2. Add your script to each slide in the notes.
  3. Go to Slide 1.
  4. On the Transitions tab:
    1. Uncheck On Mouse Click.
    2. Check After: (leave number of seconds unchanged)
    3. Click Apply To All.
  5. On the Slide Show tab, click Record Slide Show:
  6. The presentation will start recording right away, but you can start it over for the slide by clicking the rewind icon:
  7. Record the presentation. If you make a mistake, just click the rewind button for that slide and re-record the narration for that slide. Make sure you get it perfect before moving on as it's a pain to edit later.
  8. When you're done, click End Show in the upper left.
  9. Click Yes to indicate that you want to save the slide timings.
  10. Each slide will now have a speaker icon. Click on each speaker icon and, on the Audio Format tab, select Start > Automatically so that the audio will start automatically when the slide opens.
  11. To test your slide show, click Play from Start on the Slide Show tab:
